WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2025
We’re back. Here’s what you can expect from us.

It’s been a minute but Scholar Scoops is officially back and better in 2025. In the spirit of the new year, we’ve switched things up a bit. Here’s a rundown:

For Seniors: Until January 15, we’ll continue sending daily newsletters with college application updates, tips, and reminders to help you finish strong. After that, we’re switching to a weekly schedule with posts every Monday, focusing on the next chapter—resources for scholarships, finding roommates, booking housing, and everything else you need to prepare for life after admissions.

For Juniors: After January 15, expect carefully curated resources to kickstart your college admissions journey, from tips on everything from building a strong application to preparing for standardized tests and planning your timeline.

Stay tuned for the same actionable advice and guidance, tailored to where you are in the journey. Let’s make 2025 your most successful year yet!

Schools to apply to last-minute — Part 1: Liberal Arts Colleges

While not an exhaustive list, here are some great schools, specifically liberal arts colleges, to apply to last minute. Tomorrow, we’ll be doing Part 2 and covering large public universities so be sure to check back in!

Davidson College (due Jan 13)

Davidson College is the alma mater of NBA player Stephen Curry. He now often visits students and donates a lot to school programs.

📍 Location: Davidson, North Carolina (25 miles from Charlotte)

Lafayette College, the engineering liberal arts college (due Jan 15)

Lafayette is one of the few liberal arts colleges to offer comprehensive engineering majors like mechanical, civil, electrical, and chemical engineering. This combination allows students to gain technical expertise while benefiting from a well-rounded liberal arts education.

📝 Average SAT/ACT: 1415/32

📍 Location: Easton, Pennsylvania (55 miles from Philadelphia)

Hamilton College, an incredible alumni network (due Jan 15)

Popular show “the office” is written by Paul Lieberstein, an alumnus of Hamilton College. Other alumni include poet Ezra Pound and A.G. Lafley, former CEO of Procter & Gamble.
